I think it's disgraceful. A temporary new bridge in November....I'll believe it when I see it. The new walkway down to the Yarra by the Barkers Road bridge was meant to only take a few months ( according to the posted notice.) It took nearly a year to complete. Let's hope they will do better with the Grace Park bridge. As a pendioner I used it regularly to walk up to Glenferrie. I find it's closure most inconvenient.

Thanks for heads up - a dodgy widget was causing the errors. Site is now valid XHTML 1.1.

This morning (3 December 2008) just after 9.00am cars travelling westwards were queuing to enter the building via Lynch Street causing the traffic to bank up and effectively making Lynch street into a single lane with cars having to travel on the wrong side of the road to get past (potentially very dangerous as it is so close to Power street).

This requires a follow-up to ensure that Council have done what they agreed at the council meeting. It's nearly 3 months later and I haven't seen anything presented back to the community. Do they have a deadline for amendments before the process starts again from scratch? I have at the back of my mind that if the Minister has not approved the changes before the end of this year, that the time limit has expired. This might be incorrect, as I have not been directly involved in this process.

108 POWER ST; ALL ALONE AT VCAT
Monday Sept 3 Lillian Lewis, Nick Mules and myself attended the hearing at VCAt. Unfortunately by the afternoon I was the only objector left, a rather intimidating experience! However Chairman Potts went out of his way to show me cosideration and he asked searching questions of the experts. He has deferred his response which will be posted to registered objectors.
I understand that Council withdrew its objection on traffic grounds because it could not find an engineer to support its objection. Very disappointing. We now await Mr Potts decision.
