According to the press release from the Mister for Roads and Ports: “Extended clearways are now in place across the City of Boroondara, including on High Street and Cotham Road in Kew, Toorak Road in Glen Iris, Riversdale Road and Burwood Road in Hawthorn, and Burke Road in Hawthorn East.”

The $9.85 million redevelopment of the area around the Glenferrie Library is set to go ahead after the council resolved to proceed with design plans for the project.
The new development will incorporate the Glenferrie Early Learning Centre and Manresa Kindergarten as well as accommodating Maternal and Child Health services, Peppercorn Senior Citizens Club, Hawthorn Community Education Centre, Occasional Care and Meals on Wheels.
The council is proposing a 5 star energy efficient two-story building for the site.
The VCAT hearing for the proposed development at 108 Power Street Hawthorn has been set down for Monday September 3. In response to residents and council objections the developer has amended their proposal to bring it more in line with the West Hawthorn Urban Design Framework. However, this is still a large development that will impact on the surrounding area. Residents are urged to attend the hearing if they can.
This site has been set up to help residents inform each other about developments in the local area. By having a central place to share information, we can be more effective in opposing inappropriate developments.
